California and Ventura County Helping Businesses To Open Safely

In order to open, Ventura County Businesses must do the following:   [visit VC ReOpens website for more info]

1 - Review the state of California's guidance that is specific to your industry.

2 - Create a COVID-19 Prevention Plan.This involves performing a risk assessment and preparing a written worksite-specific prevention plan which includes disinfecting protocols, physical distancing guidelines, etc. The county provides Prevention Plan templates. See below*

3 - Your written plan must be posted and visible at your business.

4 - Train employees on how to limit the spread of COVID-19, including how to screen themselves for symptoms and stay home if they have them.

5 - Implement the aspects of your plan (disinfecting protocols, physical distancing guidelines, etc)

6 - Designate an on-duty employee responsible for monitoring compliance with your plan.

7 - Complete the attestation form, which confirms that you have taken all of the necessary steps at www.vcemergency.com/business-attestation.

8 - Post the COVID Hotline flyer so it is visible to customers. Download the flyer

If your businesses is already open and you haven't completed these steps, do so as soon as possible. County inspectors will begin doing site visits soon.

For Commercial and Residential Renters - Eviction Moratorium Extended to July 28th

Governor Newsom has issued an Executive Order implementing a statewide moratorium on evictions through July 28th. If you are currently renting and unable to pay rent due to financial hardship and the impact of COVID-19, we encourage you to inform your landlord by completing a Notice of Coronavirus-Related Inability to Pay Rent in order to preserve your rights as a tenant.
